The Republic of Kazakhstan is an industrial country. The main source of economic growth is mining. Moreover, Kazakhstan has vast agricultural lands, skilled personnel, considerable industrial potential. Kazakhstan is located on the border of two continents - Europe and Asia. Kazakhstanis the 9th largest country on the planet after Russia, China, the USA, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, India and Australia. Kazakhstan borders with: China, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation.

Kazakhstan consists of five major economic regions. In the North, the development of grain agriculture, mining of iron ore and coal, machinery manufacturing, oil products and ferroalloys production, power engineering. In the East Kazakhstan there predominate non-ferrous metallurgy, power engineering, machinery manufacturing and forestry. The Western Kazakhstan - the largest oil and gas production region not only in Kazakhstan, but also across CIS. Basic branches of the Central Kazakhstan - ferrous and nonferrous metallurgy, machinery manufacturing, livestock-breeding. In the South Kazakhstan cotton, rice, wool, grain, fruits, vegetables, grapes are produced; there are developed non-ferrous metallurgy, instrument engineering, light and food industry, fisheries and forestry.

Currently Kazakhstan has a real operating market economy. If in 1994 GDP per capita was 700 U.S. dollars, then by 1 January 2011 GDP increased by more than 12 times and exceeded 9000 U.S. dollars.

From 2007 to 2010 more than 1 million 170 thousand new jobs were created. By the end of 2010 the unemployment rate reduced up to 5.5%, per capita population income grew as a real terms by 6.3%, real wage by - 7.5%. In the Central Asian Commercial region Kazakhstan holds the leadership in direct foreign investment per capita attraction.
